Itinerary
Day 1 – Milwaukee, WI – Christmas Lights Tour with Singing Guide
Arrive today in Milwaukee, WI and check into your hotel for a two-night stay. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant followed by a Christmas Lights Tour with a Singing Guide. This Santa-approved tour is the perfect mix of history, Milwaukee Christmas traditions, tasty treats and a dash of light-hearted holiday spirit.
On this tour, visit holiday displays at Cathedral Square, Pere Marquette Park, Red Arrow Park and Zeidler Union Square. You’ll sample hot chocolate (or coffee) and desserts from two local restaurants, plus some special treats on the bus as well. To quote Buddy the Elf, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” Therefore, your SINGING TOUR GUIDE will lead the bus in a Christmas caroling sing-a-long. It’s like a moving Christmas concert on wheels! (D)
Day 2 – Guided Christmas Around Milwaukee Bakery Tour w/lunch – Milwaukee Public Market – Dinner in Historic Third Ward – Christmas Show at Milwaukee Repertory Theater
This morning, meet your local guide for a Christmas Around Milwaukee Bakery Tour. This tour features visits to 4 – 6 bakeries and shops in Milwaukee. At each of the stops, you will receive treats, samples, and shopping time. Enroute to each location, your fully narrated tour includes the history of Christmas holiday traditions of the Polish, Germans, Italians, Irish, and more. Today also includes lunch at a local Milwaukee Restaurant.
The afternoon features free time at the Milwaukee Public Market in the Historic Third Ward for some snacking and shopping. 18 local vendors sell freshly-made prepared food, souvenirs and high-quality artisan products like chocolates, bakery and cheese.
Dinner is included today at a restaurant in the Historic Third Ward.
End the day with a true Milwaukee holiday tradition: the Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s Christmas production. The magic of the season comes alive in the historic Pabst Theater, a local landmark that still wows audiences with its elegant opera house design and intricate details.
The scheduled show for 2023 is Nuncrackers. Enjoy Holiday Hijinks with the Singing Sisters of Nunsense. The hilarious sisters of Nunsense are back, spreading yuletide laughs, cheerful carols and the gift of festive mischief. From the basement of Mount Saint Helen’s Convent, they take to the airwaves to broadcast a new cable access Christmas special: complete with (mostly) traditional holiday songs (“Here We Come-a-Waffle-ing,” “We Three Kings of Orient Are Us”), a silly secret Santa contest, a not-so-graceful take on Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet and loads of laughs that only the Little Sisters of Hoboken can provide. Can this show get its act together? You’ll be laughing all the way through New Year’s finding out! (B,L,D)
Day 3 – Pabst Mansion – Depart for Home
After breakfast this morning, tour the Pabst Mansion. Step into the past for a Victorian-era Christmas at the Pabst Mansion, the family home of beer baron Captain Frederick Pabst. Enjoy a docent-led tour of this beautifully restored home, fully decked out for the season.
Depart for home following the tour. (B)
