Itinerary
Day 1 – Toronto – Evening at The Distillery Historic District
Arrive today in Toronto, ON where you enjoy a two-night stay. Enjoy an evening at the Distillery Historic District. This arts-and-culture hub is home to galleries, boutiques, restaurants and cafes, as well as a new wave of distilleries and craft breweries. Dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 2 – Casa Loma – Royal Ontario Museum – Shopping in Yorkville – CN Tower – Dinner & Show
This morning, tour Casa Loma, Canada’s Majestic Castle. Step back in time to a period of European elegance and splendor. The former home of Canadian financier Sir Henry Pellatt, Canada’s foremost castle is complete with decorated suites, secret passages, an 800-foot tunnel, towers, stables, and beautiful 5-acre estate gardens.
Next, visit the Royal Ontario Museum, Canada’s largest museum. It is home to more than 13 million objects spanning art, culture, and nature. The museum is filled with exhibits that speak to Ontario’s past, present and future identities. With respect to First Peoples art and culture, as well as a broad collection from all around the world, ROM is considered one of the continent’s most important cultural institutions.
Enjoy a break for lunch on own and shopping in Yorkville. Glamourous Yorkville is home to the “Mink Mile,” a strip of Bloor Street West dotted with prestigious designer boutiques like Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton. Around the corner, you’ll find Chanel, plus a selection of chic restaurants and discreet medi-spas. Luxe Yorkville was once a hippie enclave, and its artistic roots can be seen in a small handful of upscale galleries that still remain.
The afternoon features a visit to CN Tower, a 553.3 m-high (1,815.3 ft) concrete communications and observation tower located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Built on the former Railway Lands, it was completed in 1976. Its name “CN” originally referred to Canadian National, the railway company that built the tower.
Dinner is included tonight at a popular Toronto restaurant followed by an evening of Theater. Did you know, the Toronto Theater District contains the largest concentration of stage theaters in Canada. It is the third largest English-speaking theater district in the world, after West End in London and Broadway, New York. (B,D)
Day 3 – St. Lawrence Lunch Cruise – Ottawa, ON – Indigenous Experience & Dinner
Departing Toronto this morning, stop in Rockport, ON for a St. Lawrence Lunch Cruise. Experience the panoramic views of the majestic St. Lawrence River in the beautiful 1000 Islands aboard this two-hour non-stop cruise.
This cruise features the Canadian Palisades where a statue of St. Lawrence watches over the river that bears his name. Sail under the 1000 Islands International Bridge and discover a stretch of cottage country called Millionaire’s Row. Cruise around magnificent Boldt Castle, built as a tribute to George Boldt’s wife who tragically passed away before construction was completed. Watch for Zavikon Island, Casablanca on Cherry Island, a grand estate built in 1892 as well as many other beautiful homes in this photographer’s paradise.
Travel continues this afternoon to Ottawa, ON where you enjoy a two-night stay. After time to freshen-up at the hotel, enjoy an Indigenous Experience this evening at Mādahòkì Farm, Canada’s only Indigenous Agri‐tourism destination and working farm. Here you enjoy the Celebration of Indigenous Spirit dinner and performance celebrating the culture with a talented group of Pow Wow dancers.
Witness the vibrance, resilience and beauty of the Indigenous culture through these dances which have been passed on through the generations and continue to inspire future generations. Each dance style shares important insight to the culture, teachings, and beliefs as told through the recorded narration and a shared round dance.
This Celebration includes an Indigenous meal, served family style, and prepared by one of the Indigenous chefs. The menu will vary throughout the seasons and availability of Indigenous ingredients. An example of this simple and fresh meal could include corn soup, Bannock, main dish (bison stew, maple arctic char or elk sausage) wild rice casserole, roasted seasonal vegetable and dessert. Day 4 – National Gallery of Canada – Parliament Hill – ByWard Market Square – Rideau Canal Cruise – Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show
Start the day with a tour of the National Gallery of Canada, the permanent home of the world’s most comprehensive collection of Canadian art. Discover the story of art in Canada in the Canadian and Indigenous Galleries – a massive display that includes ancient Indigenous artifacts, religious pieces from New France, Group of Seven paintings and modern Inuit sculptures. Explore Canada’s finest collection of European art, strong collections of Asian and international works, as well as world-class special exhibitions. The Gallery is also home to one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of photographs and related materials.
Next, visit Parliament Hill, one of Canada’s most iconic sites and a must-see when visiting Canada’s capital. The historic, neo-Gothic Parliament Buildings stand tall on a hill overlooking the majestic Ottawa River in downtown Ottawa. The grounds of Parliament Hill are a welcoming and photogenic place, with large grassy spaces, dozens of monuments and the symbolic Centennial Flame.
Enjoy some free time for lunch on own at ByWard Market Square. Located in one of Ottawa’s oldest buildings in the heart of the city’s central core. It is home to both a local farmers’ market and artisans with many stands, as well as over 600 businesses. Within an area roughly four blocks square, you’ll find museums, cafés, specialty food shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, pubs, hair & aesthetics salons, and more! Easily accessible on foot, by transit, or by car, the ByWard Market offers a unique experience for all.
The afternoon features a Rideau Canal Cruise. This cruise will take you back to 1812 when the plan for the construction of the canal was introduced. The Rideau Canal is a chain of beautiful lakes, rivers and canals winding from Kingston, at the head of Lake Ontario, to Ottawa, Canada’s capital city. Discover the wonderful Rideau Canal, from Dow’s lake to the Ottawa River. You will see many historical landmarks and enjoy the rich cultural heritage of the region.
End the day with the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show. This two-hour show features all-Canadian music: from maritime folk songs to modern pop. Come meet the singing Mountie, Hockey Player, Anne of Green Gables, Klondike Kitty and more.
This high-energy production features over 70 songs from all-Canadian artists including music from Paul Anka, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, the Bare Naked Ladies, Avril Lavigne, Justin Bieber and many, MANY more. While you’re enjoying the show, performers serve a famous, all-Canadian meal. At what other restaurant are you served your dinner by a singing Mountie? (B,D)
