Itinerary
Day 1 – Covington, KY – Riverboat Dinner Cruise – Today, travel to Covington, KY for the night at a local hotel. This evening enjoy a two and half hour dinner cruise aboard one of the B. B. Riverboats – the Belle of Cincinnati or River Queen. Take in the skyline, watch the river go by listen to the soft sounds of the DJ and enjoy a fantastic meal. (D)
Day 2 – The Ark Encounter – Berlin, OH – This morning you visit the Ark Encounter, an experience like no other. From the moment you turn the corner and the towering Ark comes into view, to the friendly animals in the petting zoo, to the jaw-dropping exhibits inside the Ark, you’ll experience the pages of the Bible like never before. This marvel of engineering is seven stories tall and is a football field and a half long. It is the largest timber frame structure in the
world. Get ready to experience close-up encounters with stunning animals; some life-like recreations from Noah’s day and many living and breathing animals from today. Enjoy lunch on your own, at the Emzara’s Kitchen located on the grounds.
Travel this afternoon to Berlin, OH. On arrival, check into the Berlin Grande Hotel, located in the heart of Ohio’s Amish Country, for a two night stay. Dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant close to the hotel. (B,D)
Day 3 – Full Day Guided Amish Tour – Dinner in Amish Home – Show at Ohio Star Theater – This morning you will meet your local guide after breakfast for a full day of Amish touring. Start with a visit to Heini’s Cheese Chalet. Here you will enjoy free samples of over 50 varieties of natural cheese, and delicious Gourmet Cheese Fudge. Heini’s offers also offers a large selection of meats from traditional Amish style to more specialized meats like Souse and Head Cheese. Brand new to the Heini’s Cheese is their Country Gift Shop. Stop in at the Country Gift Shop for authentic Amish hand-crafted gifts only available at Heini’s Cheese Chalet. Take a piece of Amish country home with you.
Next stop be Walnut Creek Booms for a broom making demonstration. See how Amish women make these brooms by hand. Then visit the Walnut Creek Cheese and shop for a great selection of bulk foods smoked meats, cheese, jams and jellies, bakery items and much more. Walnut Creek Cheese also makes some of the best homemade ice cream in the county and even features season flavors. You will also have time for lunch on own here.
The afternoon features a tour of Yoder’s Amish Home where you discover the history and lifestyle of the Amish people. Here you can explore two Amish Homes, a one room school house and enjoy a buggy ride through the hay fields.
Make at stop at Coblentz Chocolates. A viewing gallery makes it possible to see firsthand how the dedicated staff makes chocolates and other sweet treats the old-fashioned way. All chocolates are created using recipes from generations long ago. Confectioners start from scratch to create chocolates and candies that will quickly become an affordable luxury you’ll crave often. Gourmet coffees and teas are available in the gift shop along with stylish jewelry, handbags and unique items for the home some of which are made by local artisans.
Tonight, you will enjoy dinner in an Amish Family Home. Enjoy a delicious family style feast and fellowship with your Amish Hosts. Enjoy all you can eat fresh meats, sides, homemade bread with Amish peanut butter whip and mouthwatering whoopie pies.
End the day with a show at the Ohio Star Theater. It’s a fun-filled, family-friendly evening enjoying a memorable performance from unforgettable characters to old-fashioned simplicity and non-stop laughter, this is the place to let your heart sing and your spirit soar. (B,D)
