San Francisco to Hollywood, you’ll roll though to the Monterey Peninsula, taking the famed 17-Mile Drive past Lone Cypress and the Lodge at Pebble Beach. You’ll enjoy the shopper’s paradise, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and the restaurants and shops on Cannery Row. Stretch your legs on a walking tour of Santa Barbara’s historic, adobe-walled landmarks, beautiful gardens and plaza’s. The Pacific Coast Highway will lead you through Malibu and into the suburbs of Los Angeles where you spend two final nights of sightseeing.

Itinerary
Day 1 – San Francisco – City Tour – Arrive in San Francisco, CA by the afternoon. Enjoy a city sightseeing tour to include Chinatown, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, Twin Peaks, and the Presidio. Check into your Fisherman’s Wharf hotel for a two night stay. Dinner is included tonight at a local restaurant on Pier 39. (D)
Day 2 – Sausalito – Marine Mammal Center – Alcatraz – This morning, you head to Sausalito where you visit the Marine Mammal Center which rescues, rehabilitates, and releases, marine mammals who are injured, ill, or abandoned. This tour will provide insights into the work of the Center and share stories about the seal and sea lion patients. Then you will have time for lunch on own and shopping in downtown Sausalito.
Returning to San Francisco this afternoon, take a Cruise to Alcatraz. The cruise takes you along San Francisco’s waterfront, under the Golden Gate Bridge, along the Marin Headlands, around Alcatraz and back to Fisherman’s Wharf. Enjoy a Free Evening to explore San Francisco on your own. (B)
Day 3 – Santa Cruz & Big Trees Railroad – Monterey – Carmel-by-the-Sea – Departing San Francisco this morning, you travel south to the town of Felton, nestled amongst the Coastal Redwoods of California’s North Central Coast. Here you board the Santa Cruz & Big Trees Railroad for a short ride through these big trees and enjoy a barbeque lunch in historic Roaring Camp, a recreation of a logging community of the late 1800’s. A chuckwagon BBQ lunch is also included today with your train ride.
Next, you will visit Old Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey. The heart of the area’s thriving fishing industry, you can usually watch the working trawlers unloading the catch of the day or see sea lions and otters frolicking in the inner harbor waters. There is also plenty of nice restaurants and shopping opportunities.
Then take the scenic 17 Mile Drive past Pebble Beach. Marvel at some of nature’s treasures found along 17-Mile Drive including The Lone Cypress – one of California’s best-known landmarks – Spanish Bay, Cypress Point Lookout and Carmel Bay.
Next, you will visit Carmel-By-The-Sea. European-style village nestled above a picturesque white-sand beach where everything is within walking distance from performing arts and cultural activities to hundreds of Carmel shops, restaurants, wine tasting, art galleries, and more.
Returning to Monterey for the night, enjoy a free evening and dinner on own at Cannery Row. This historic waterfront district on Monterey Bay was made famous by writer John Steinbeck, who illustrated Cannery Row life in his colorful stories. Authentic Monterey restaurants, convenient shopping and exciting Monterey nightlife are all found on Monterey’s Cannery Row. (B, L)
Day 4 – Hearst Castle – Solvang, CA – Depart Monterey this morning for San Simeon and a tour the Hearst Castle. Perched atop a hill, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and San Simeon’s rugged coastline, Hearst Castle was envisioned by newspaper giant William Randolph Hearst and designed by architect Julia Morgan. Hearst Castle began as a modest hilltop retreat, but ended up one of the world’s greatest attractions and showpieces for ancient art—one that still rivals museum collections around the world.
Next head to Solvang, CA, known as “Little Denmark” for an overnight stay. Tonight enjoy a smorgasbord dinner at the Royal Copenhagen Inn. (B,D)
Day 5 – Santa Barbara – Hollywood – Today travel to Santa Barbara, CA for a guided tour including the Mission Santa Barbara. There will be time for lunch and some shopping on own. Take in the beauty and grandeur of the Old Mission Santa Barbara, known as the Queen of the Missions. From a breathtaking church and historic cemetery to beautiful gardens and a captivating museum.
This afternoon you arrive in Hollywood, CA for a two night stay at an area hotel. Dinner is included tonight at a popular restaurant on the Santa Monica Pier. (B,D)
Day 6 – Beverly Hills – Today, you will enjoy a full day of Beverly Hills Sightseeing starting with morning tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. You will see the Beaches, the Hollywood Sign, Mulholland Drive, Rodeo Drive, Bel Air, Sunset Strip and many Movie Star Homes.
This afternoon features Grauman’s Chinese Theater the most famous movie theatre in the world. Known for its unique Forecourt of the Stars, featuring cement hand and footprints of major movie stars from past to present. You will also have time to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)
